As you can see this is not your average Dodge Dart, this car is
incredible
after having had what can only be described as an amazing
restoration with
attention to detail evident anywhere you may look. The engine is a
re-built
318 cubic inch V8, recently dynoed at 324 horsepower delivering 273
to the
wheels, with cast iron Indy heads, oversized valves, Edelbrock RPM
Performer
intake manifold, a performance camshaft and lifters, ceramic coated
HTC TTI
exhaust headers going through 2 chamber Flowmaster mufflers and
ending in
stainless steel MEG oval tips. It has a polished Carter 9000 series
650cfm
carburetor, MSD ignition with rev limiter and an MSD blaster coil.
The
radiator is a 3 row and it has a high performance clutch fan.
Charging is
from a rebuilt 100 amp alternator and it has a Chrysler high torque
mini
starter. The air cleaner is not only flames to match the outside of
the car
but is a big block duel snorkel version with K&N air filter.
Mopar valve
covers painted Viper Red dress the engine. The air conditioning is
rebuilt
factory a/c. Power goes to the ground through a rebuilt 904
automatic
transmission with a B&M Mega shifter, a shift kit and 2,000 rpm
stall torque
converter out to a narrowed 8 ¾ inch rear end with Auburn posi-traction
and
3:55 gears and heavy duty 440 springs and big 11 inch drums.
Suspension is
rebuilt from top to bottom with 440 torsion bars at the front, 1 1/2
inch
sway bar at the front and 1 inch for the rear and KYB gas shocks.
Power
steering is fitted and it has a new steering box. The interior is
done
beautifully with custom padded dash, new headliner, custom sport
bench seat
with fold down armrest, padded trunk, sound insulation, custom floor
mats,
and lovely hand sewn leather covered steering wheel. Sound is an
AM/FM
Cassette with remote. Instrumentation includes Auto Meter gauges
mounted
below the a/c unit for water temp, oil pressure and voltage along
with a
column mounted tachometer. Other equipment includes Tri-bar
headlights,
custom fit front air dam and dual mirrors. Wheels are powder coated
Viper
Red, OEM steel wheels, with polished Police center caps and
B.F.Goodrich
radials 255x 60 x15 at the rear and 205x 60x15 fronts. That's it for
mechanics, now the paint, it's incredible and near flawless
especially so
when you realize it's a few years old. Finished in a Butterscotch
colour
with Viper Red flames on the hood, roof, trunk and sides with a
matching Red
interior that is piped in Butterscotch.
