1967 PONTIAC GTO HARDTOP
Here we have an excellent example
of the ever sought after and what arguably could be called the most
desirable of all GTO models, a 1967 GTO. This car is for the person who
wants the looks and nostalgia of an original GTO but
is interested in it being a great driver with some modern updates. A lot
of money was spent at a fairly local shop that specializes in GTO
restoration only. The customer who spent the money is a famous
singer-guitarist-songwriter; he is John Rzeznik, of the Goo Goo Dolls.
We have been told there are songs that mention Johns GTO and possibly a
CD cover showing this car. It is fitted with 4 wheel power disc brakes,
cross drilled rotors, vintage air conditioning, Doug's headers and all
new exhaust system. It has what appears to be a complete suspension
rebuild, sway bars front and rear. Cooling is taken care of by a pair of
electric fans. The engine is a rebuilt (nom) Pontiac motor with lots of
chrome, a complete serpentine belt system with Billet aluminium mounting
brackets, chromed alternator and air conditioning compressor, a polished
intake manifold and chrome valve covers, Keith Black pistons and meant
to be in the 450 horsepower range. The carburetor is a big Holley. All
of this gives it a really nice and tidy appearance. Interior wise it has
a really nice machined metal instrument panel and center console to
replace the factory wood veneer stick on paneling. The dash has full
instrumentation. Carpets, upholstery and headliner are all in very nice
condition and it has a custom steering wheel. It has bucket seats with
center console and his and hers shifter. For the
sound system, that has been changed out to a Kenwood KDC MP225 AM FM CD
player with mp3 ability. Wheels are chrome 5-spoke Cragers with a nice
set of radial tyres with a thin white line to just set the car off. This
is a very high quality driver that you would be proud of anywhere,
either on the street, in your garage or at a car show, compliments will
be a given. Finished in a really nice Silver Green with a Black
interior.
