This is an incredible example of the most popular of American classics, having had a beautiful frame off restoration. We sold this car back in 1999. At that time the car was a really nice, already restored example. As often is the case the new owner decided to do a few things. That turned into a complete frame off restoration, (again) that has been a class winner at many shows. It has been turned into a resto-rod style of car. It looks stock with the exception of the original (1960’s) early style American racing torque thrust wheels that were plated by the American Racing factory. Power is from a ZZ430, built to look like a Fuel Injected 283 Chevrolet V8. It has a custom built reproduction 1957 Rochester Fuel Injection system. All E.F.I computer controlled with the systems hidden from view. All original fuel injection ram air system including the under hood special panel. Rare NOS Corvette F.I. valve covers are fitted. It has a 12 bolt Posi rear end, front disc brakes, vintage traction master bars, 1960’s style auxiliary gauges for water temp and amperes and a 1965 vintage Sun Teach with transmitter. The original generator and power steering pump were retained with the generator being upgraded to deliver more voltage for the electronics. Sound is all Alpine, with an under the driver’s seat remote controlled stereo and in the trunk a CD stacker with a V12 amp. It also has an original style AM radio in the dash, a heater, clock, front and rear seat belts and back up lights. Also fitted are front and rear bumper guards, and dual exhaust with headers. The cowl tag shows it to be an original California car, built in Los Angeles. It has the one-piece front bumper, the early Black California license plates on it and appears to be absolutely rust free. Finished in Matador Red with matching Red interior with Black center high lights.
