1956 CHEVROLET BELAIR NOMAD

$79,995.00

Being recognized as a “Milestone Car” the 1956 Nomad is truly a collector car and has been for very many years. Production was low with only 7,886 built and when you consider Chevrolet had calendar year sales of 1,621,004 units the Nomad is incredibly rare. Unique to the Nomad compared to regular station wagons was the slanting pillar roof line with ribs in the roof, a slanting tailgate and seven chrome slat moldings on the headliner. The example we have here is rather outstanding vehicle having had a complete frame off and rotisserie restoration performed. It has traveled a mere 3,894 miles since completion. Power is from what appears to be the original 265 cubic inch V8 coupled to a power glide transmission. The number on the engine pad reads, 0052815  F56FB. The first numbers are a little hard to read but we think this is it. Wide Whitewall radial tyres are fitted to enhance the drivability qualities. In the same vain, it has had fitted a dual brake master cylinder for added safety and it is equipped with power steering. The VIN number indicates the car was built here locally in the Los Angeles plant. Stunning is the only way to describe this vehicle, as it is that!!

The cowl tag indicates it is an original Nomad that came with a padded dash top and it is finished in its original combination of Sherwood Green (#706) over India Ivory with Light Green with some Grey and Dark Green trim (#590)
